🚚 Shipments

Every outbound package — draft it, get a live rate, print a label, and ship it. Shipping an inventory item automatically deducts it from stock.

Draft first
"Save Draft" creates the shipment without touching inventory. Nothing is deducted or finalized until you click "Mark as Shipped."

Live rates
Click "Get Live Rates" after entering weight/dimensions and a ship-from location to compare real carrier pricing — requires that carrier's credentials to be configured under Settings first.

Inventory vs. non-inventory
Line items can be a tracked part (deducted from the ship-from location's stock) or a free-text non-inventory item (e.g. a demo unit) that isn't tracked in inventory at all.

Serial number manifest
For serialized parts, scan or type serial numbers before shipping — they get marked shipped and linked to this shipment for full device history traceability.

Voiding
Only a shipped shipment can be voided (not deleted) — voiding restores the inventory it deducted. A draft can just be deleted outright.

Shared ship-to records — save an address once and reuse it on every future shipment instead of retyping it.

Star a customer to pin them to the top of the list and the shipment picker — useful for repeat buyers or distributors you ship to often.

Address is a snapshot
A shipment stores its own copy of the address at the time it was created — editing a customer later doesn't change addresses already used on past shipments.

Deleting is safe
Deleting a customer with real order/shipment history is blocked — you'll be told to merge instead if you're trying to clean up a duplicate.

Click a name for the full profile
Order history, shipment history, tags, and an interaction log (calls, emails, notes — with attachments) all live in one view. Financial totals are only visible to admin/accounting roles.

Merge Duplicates (admin)
Finds customers with the exact same name or email and lets you pick which record survives. The other's orders, shipments, and notes all move over — irreversible, so review carefully.

Admin-only: connect a label printer and carrier accounts. Nothing here is required to use Shipping — without it, shipments just skip live rates and label printing.

Printer is per-computer
The chosen Zebra printer is saved to this browser only — every workstation with a printer attached needs to pick its own.

Carrier credentials
Paste in API credentials per carrier, then use "Test Connection" before trying a real rate quote from the Shipments tab — an untested/unconfigured carrier just shows "Not configured."

Zebra Label Printer

Printing happens through Zebra Browser Print, a small app that runs on whichever computer is connected to the printer (this app is hosted in the cloud and can't reach a printer on your local network directly). Install it from zebra.com on that machine, then pick the printer below — this choice is saved on this browser/computer only, not shared with other workstations.

Paste in API credentials for each carrier to enable live rate shopping on the Shipments tab. Carriers left disabled or unconfigured show "Not configured" instead of live rates. Nothing here has been tested against a live carrier account yet — use Test Connection after saving, then try a real rate quote from the Shipments tab.
